why suffer?
Believe it or not, there are ways to make this a little easier on yourself.
Before showing up…
01 — Schedule your visit around your period. PERIOD.
We suggest scheduling your appointment a few days before or after your period. Skin is much more sensitive, could increase the risk inflammation or unneeded irritation of the area. If you happen to get your period before your visit, please place a fresh tampon or menstrual cup upon arrival.
02 — Put down the razor, tweezers, and scissors ya crazy lady.
Hair must be at least 1/2’’ long. I will not attempt any services without proper hair length.
**There will be a $25 fee for booking an appointment without the proper length of hair & you will be charged without being waxed.
03 — CHUG, CHUG, CHUG
Hydration is key to a successful wax. Drinking lots of fluids helps keep the skin moisturized and plump, which makes hair removal much easier. Be aware, coming with a hangover is NOT fun or recommended.
04 — Lay bare, we’ll take care of down there…
Shower & lightly exfoliate the area to be waxed. Use warm water. Be extra clean. Wear full sized cotton panties to and from your appointment.
Do not apply any lotions or oils on the day of your wax.
Wax may not adhere properly, causing hair to break or be left behind.
05 — Waxing pain is just unwanted hair leaving the body.
Take a Tylenol 30-45 minutes before your scheduled appointment to reduce the surface discomfort.
Do not take Ibuprofen or Advil which can cause blood thinning
AFTER CARE
Waxing is like mowing the lawn, no one wants to do it, but after it’s done it looks and feels so nice…
01 — Take care of your lady bits.
Keep in mind, Immediately after wax it may be normal to see redness and a prickly type heat rash.
Avoid tight underwear and pants for a few days
Avoid touching freshly waxed skin to reduce chances of irritation
Do not sit in a hot bath for the rest of the day
No tanning, public pools, saunas, or steam rooms for at least 48 hours
02 — Try to plan ahead for extracurricular activities * wink wink *
Sexual activity should be avoided for 24-48 hours. Apply our OUCH BALM, to speed up the process*
03 — Less is more…
Wait at least 2 full days before using a wash cloth and gentle exfoliator
No topical lotions for 12 hours (scented or unprofessional product may cause a burning sensation)
04 — Life isn’t perfect, but your aftercare can be…
The most important time to care for your wax is 3-10 days after the service has been done. Following these guidelines will eliminate chances of ingrown hairs and slow down the process of growth for fresh hairs. As the skin heals, it’s possible for new, softer hair to become trapped under the skin, try buffing area 2-3 times a week with a gentle exfoliator & ask us about one of our recommended aftercare products.
How long does it last?
For first-timers or occasional waxers, it lasts about 2-3 weeks if the hair was long enough at the appointment. Keep in mind, that due to staggered hair growth, you will see about 1/3 of your hair come back by that time. The density of the hair may decrease over time, depending on your ability to keep up with waxes. Regular clients can see results for up to 6 weeks after service.
